O Pelados não nasceu ontem. Desde 2016, a banda de São Paulo vem soltando bombas criativas no underground: Com os Amigos É Melhor, THELP, o mais produzido Sozinhos (2020) e o caos delicioso de Foi Mal (2022). Agora, com Contato, o quinteto formado por Manu Julian, Helena Cruz, Theo Ceccato, Vicente Tassara e Lauiz assina talvez o seu projeto mais maduro e explosivo até aqui.
O som é um caldeirão: indie rock, pop eletrônico, ruído, humor e seriedade dividindo a mesma faixa. Cada música parece existir entre festa e protesto — com letras afiadas, sarcásticas, mas que também tocam em questões reais da nossa geração. An album that starts with the line “vamos acabar com o MPB, escrever um livro com GPT” (“We’re gonna put an end to MPB, write a book with GPT”) could never be just another release. Pelados’ new record, Contato (2025), lands like a sonic and poetic punch, opening a space that few Brazilian bands have dared to claim. It begins in manifesto mode: different, cheeky, almost provocative — and that’s exactly why it matters.
Pelados didn’t just show up yesterday. Since 2016, the São Paulo outfit has been dropping creative bombs in the underground: Com os Amigos É Melhor, THELP, the more polished Sozinhos (2020), and the chaotic sweetness of Foi Mal (2022). Now, with Contato, the five-piece — Manu Julian, Helena Cruz, Theo Ceccato, Vicente Tassara and Lauiz — might have delivered their most mature, explosive work yet.
