The Sydney duo Royel Otis are back at it, and this time they’re bringing all the feels. Their new single “Moody” is exactly what it sounds like: dreamy, nostalgic, a little bit heartbroken, and totally addictive. Think: late ’90s indie guitars meet softboy vulnerability, with a sprinkle of that driving-with-the-windows-down energy.

Co-written with Grammy-winner Amy Allen and produced by Blake Slatkin (aka the genius behind tracks for Gracie Abrams and Charli XCX), “Moody” is slacker rock at its most emotionally intelligent. It’s the kind of track that lives rent-free in your head while you stare dramatically out the train window.

There’s no full music video yet, but the duo dropped a black-and-white visualizer that’s giving major Tumblr-core and we’re honestly kind of obsessed. They even teased the song live at their sold-out show at LA’s Troubadour and the crowd lost it.

If you’re lucky, you’ll catch them supporting Halsey on her U.S. tour this summer—or screaming “Moody” at the top of your lungs at Glastonbury, Governors Ball, or Lollapalooza. Royel Otis aren’t just on the rise—they’re carving out their own sad-boy-meets-surf-rock lane, and we’re so here for it.

Stream “Moody,” throw it on your break-up playlist, and let the existential groove take over.
