At Divergent Beats, we had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Be Like Milo to discuss his musical journey and his latest single, Endless Youth, which will be released tomorrow, Friday the 21st.

His story isn’t just about making music—it’s about transformation, risk, and embracing creativity in its rawest form.

Michael, the artist behind Be Like Milo, wasn’t always immersed in the music scene.

A few years ago, he worked in finance—yes, spreadsheets, suits, the whole thing—until he decided to flip the script and follow his true passion. And let’s just say he’s absolutely killing it.

His first released track was an indie-acoustic Pieces, drenched in the emotional aftermath of a heartbreak.

The song wasn’t just profoundly personal—it was literally a letter to his ex-boyfriend, the same ex who had always wanted a song written for him. Ironic, right? Instead of a love song, he got a breakup anthem. But hey, sometimes the best art comes from pain.

Fast-forward to today, and his sound has evolved into something completely different. In our interview, Michael shared how his entire approach to music—how he listens, creates, and expresses himself—has changed over the years.

While his lyrics remain intensely personal, reflecting his experiences navigating relationships, mental health, and life in London as part of the LGBTQ+ community, his sound has shifted into a blend of pop, electronic, and even hints of his acoustic roots.

Take Control Alt Delete, his last single, for example—a track that fuses dating with a satirical, almost playful take on life’s chaos.

One of the most fascinating things about Michael’s creative process? Colours.

Every song he writes is linked to a specific colour in his mind, visually shaping the emotion and energy behind the track.

And that brings us to Endless Youth. As he revealed, this is one of the most complex songs he’s ever put out—emotionally, artistically, and structurally.

The track is divided into three distinct parts, taking listeners from an atmospheric, introspective beginning to a full-blown techno explosion by the end. It’s a sonic journey, a rollercoaster of emotions, and we are ready for it.

Michael also touched on something many artists will relate to: the challenge of revisiting past emotions when recording music. “I feel I can write music when I’m sad,” he admitted. But then, it feels so strange to record with a different mindset.

That tension—between the past self that created the song and the present self that performs it—adds another layer of authenticity to his work.

So, are we hyped for Endless Youth? Absolutely. And you should be, too.
