Since yesterday, everyone has been buzzing about the number one most-viewed Netflix series released on Thursday the 13th: Adolescence.
Adolescence is a gripping four-part limited series starring Stephen Graham (Boiling Point, Bodies), with each episode unfolding in a single, unbroken shot, a unique storytelling technique that will surely pique your interest.
The series, consisting of four episodes, each an hour long, invites you to immerse yourself in the emotional journey of the characters, making you feel like a part of their world.
The narrative unfolds in real-time, focusing on the family at the centre of the tragedy and the detectives trying to uncover the truth behind the case: did Jamie Miller murder a girl at school? The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat.

As mentioned above, each episode is captured in one unbroken shot, with everyone watching grips to the screen.
The series premiere with Jamie arrested and detained the morning after Katie’s body was found.
“We knew we had to grab you from the beginning,” Stephen Graham, Who co-created the series and plays Jamie’s father, shared with Vanity Fair. “My main thing was to go into the house and arrest this 12-, 13-year-old boy, and then see the timeline that it would take for it to come to court.”
Jamie, played by Owen Cooper, is his first acting role.
About him, Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham said that they did 400 auditions until they found Owen, who was chosen because he was not acting but performing, and that is what they needed in this series.
We don’t want to create any spoilers here.
Still, the 3rd episode is one of the most profound, most potent episodes ever seen, not just because of how it was filmed but also because it is the first time in many years that we haven’t had such an incredible performance by a young actor.

The episode is about an intense exchange between Cooper and Erin Doherty (A Thousand Blows), who portrays clinical psychologist Briony Ariston.
But we promise we won’t spoil it any more.
Many are asking if the series comes from a true story, and about that, Grahman said in a Rolling Stone interview that the series draws inspiration from multiple real-life cases in which young boys were involved in fatal stabbings of young girls.
Knife-related violence has been a growing concern in the U.K., with incidents involving sharp objects rising significantly.
Adolescence is a five 5-star series for acting, performance and film. It is a refreshing way to do a series that will undoubtedly be awarded.
The series will leave you attached to the screen from beginning to end.
