With ‘Georgie’, Twin Shadows delivers one of the most profound and influential albums of 2025. This sixth studio album is a unique blend of stripped-down sound and emotional depth, making it a standout in the artist’s discography.
Under the new independent label Dom Recs, Twin Shadow—Dominican-born American musician George Lewis Jr.—poured his heart and soul into the creation of ‘Georgie’, a deeply personal album that he completed while unexpectedly navigating the heartbreak of losing his father, George Sr.

About the album Twin Shadow shared last year on his Instagram account:
“I’m releasing a new album called Georgie. I’ve ditched traditional labels, agents, management, and drums for this record. Georgie is my most stripped down body of work yet — at this point in my life and career, nothing matters more than my deepest, darkest, and brightest feelings. The album art features my father George’s signature. I had him scrawl it hundreds of times in a notebook, and I ended up choosing the very first one. At the time, I had no idea my father would pass away just a few months later. Aside from the large drawing we once did together, which now hangs on my mother’s dining room wall, this is my favorite collaboration with him. The album is dedicated to his memory.”
The first listen to the album ‘Georgie’ unveils a Twin Shadow that is distinct from the 2021 self-titled album. It is a maturing, deeper, and sweeter sound that harks back to the beginning, offering a nostalgic LA sound that is both refreshing and familiar.
The pre-released singles ‘As Soon as We Can’ and ‘You already know’ have taken us on a dreamy journey, but the 11th track delves even deeper. It guides us through a profound journey of self-discovery, navigating love, pain, and joy with raw emotional depth.
“Maybe It’s time” starts with: “Maybe I’m lost in a forest, Maybe I’m lost on this LSD, Now you are the colour of courage, The one that I call in an emergency…” and about each song of it Twin Shadow said: “Georgie is my most stripped-down album,” Twin Shadow shared. “At this point in my life and career, nothing matters more than my deepest, darkest, and brightest feelings. The album art features my father’s signature. I had him scrawl it hundreds of times in a notebook. When I was making this record, I had no idea he would pass away just a few months later. Georgie is dedicated to his memory.”
It is, for sure, one of the best albums out so far, and a must-listen.
